In July 2016, Allies reaffirmed NATO’s defensive mandate and recognised cyberspace as a domain of operations in which NATO must defend itself. Preventing such attacks is a key priority for every NATO ally. Cyber security is an indispensable part of the whole Transatlantic security, while the violation of cyber space and the damaging of critical infrastructures by hackers is a challenge that the Alliance and its members should address. The cyber “battlefield” is not particularly new, but nowadays technology is rapidly advancing as never before. New challenges for cyber security erupt with every minute.
